Squirrel Hole Leads to Water Damage

Having a squirrel chew its way into your house is not a good thing.

But, when a squirrel’s hole lets water into your structure, it qualifies as a squirrel removal emergency.

Ouch…that’s the word that comes to mind when this is viewed.

Squirrels get into a lot of roofs, walls, eaves, and soffits but, rarely, are their holes placed in spots that lead to as much water getting into a house.  This situation is almost like the perfect storm of squirrel problems.

So if you suspect you have squirrels living in your roof line somewhere, there’s no need to panic just yet.  But, please don’t ignore it.  Until you or someone gets up there to assess the squirrel entry holes, the urgency of the situation remains a mystery.

Squirrels can chew through all kinds of material.  They chew through vinyl, aluminum, plastic, and (as this so painfully shows) rubberized material. Often, squirrels pick areas that are damaged in some way but, sometimes, they don’t.
